Amelia Wright

Hello! My name is Amelia W. Wright and I am an English and Journalism teacher at WMCHS.  This is my eighth year at WMCHS and my 15th year teaching HS English in New Jersey. I received my BA and MAT from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison. I have completed my Ed.D. in Literacy at Rutgers University in New Brunswick and currently also teach graduate level course as an adjunct on Adolescent Literacy at New Jersey City University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Rutgers University. I am a certified IB teacher and have worked as an adjunct writing professor at Brookdale Community College in the past. I am a teacher consultant for the National Writing Project and I am committed to life-long learning. I am the adviser of the school newspaper, The Paw, and co-adviser of Highlanders for Humanity. I also serve as a Service Learning Project Coordinator for the IB Career Academy, and the Mentor Trainer for WMCHS.

When I'm not reading and writing, I love to play with my dog and cat, take care of my fish, practice yoga, ride horses, and spend time with my family and friends, especially my  3-year old daughter, my husband, my nieces, and my nephew. I am originally from the Jersey Shore, but very happy to now be a part of Northwest NJ!
