Diane McManus

Welcome to the homepage of Diane McManus! I am a member of the Family & Consumer Science Department and I teach Culinary Arts, World Cuisine, Healthy Cooking, Gourmet Foods, Creative Cooking & Baking, and Contemporary Life Issues. My culinary classes integrate some of the organic vegetables/herbs planted in the geodesic dome (solar powered greenhouse) into the recipes used in class. The special education department initiated this greenhouse and our students have reaped the benefits of the good earth!  I am also a co-advisor to the Highlanders for Humanity service club at West Morris Central. Check our site for all of the exciting service opportunities we have coming up!  I am proud to be a part of the West Morris community!

I provide a positive environment for all students where they have fun while learning! I love what I do and every day is a way to reach young people and provide them with life skills so they will have the necessary tools to become even more successful in all aspects of their lives!  The Family & Consumer Sciences curriculum seeks to empower students to be fully-functioning participants in family, school, workplace, and the global community. Based on the belief that a positive sense of self is the underlying foundation of an individual's ability to be fully functioning, the curriculum is designed to provide each student with experiences that promote an understanding of self and the interconnections of the roles of family member, worker, and citizen.

I believe that you should treat others how you would like to be treated. Respect each other...respect YOURSELF!
Here's to a great year!
I am available period 1 and period 8 during my hall duty for extra help in room C117 and Tuesdays after school or by appointment..
